The Wood River is a perfect half day jaunt. Terrific variety from a lost nature setting to cruising through rustic civilization. Thick overgrown streams with a full share of bottom scrapers to a virtual wide open lake at trip's end make the Wood River the perfect small adventure for kayak or canoe. Two easy portages figure in, but are a breeze. Please be respectful of trout fishermen along the way, as Silence is Golden when you're trying to catch a golden trout!
