Stillwater Reservoir is a 2.2 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Smithfield, Rhode Island that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, and canoeing and is best used from April until October.
The river was a nice touch once it started really flowing. Too much noise from the highway and neighboring roads. Certainly not a forest vibe
a wide path following a river.
If you're looking for an easy, level, well-shaded and relatively short place to walk, this trail certainly fits the bill. But I was hoping to do some actual hiking -- thus, my disappointment. . . it wasn't worth the 20-minute drive for me. Lovely and quiet, but not at all challenging.
Nice easy trail. Wide packed dirt, some stone. The water is a beautiful feature on this trail.
