Shoot the Moon Loop Trail is a 2.2 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near West Greenwich, Rhode Island that features a great forest setting and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, nature trips, and bird watching.
Today was a great impromptu hike in sneakers (wish I had my hiking boots with me ). It was wet but a gorgeous hike nonetheless. I will definately be back with my mountain bike. The trails were great with awesome banks and hills to get some speed...
Good overall. A little muddy/icy in spots, but nothing that we couldn't get through by being careful. See how many discarded car tires you can find. Personally, we counted 14.
Nice loop. Didn’t notice blue markings at first and ended up in open, sandy area, but found our way back. Noticed the blue, and later, red markings on trees. Took about 50 minutes for two 50-something non-serious hikers. Parked down a bit by pond and walked up road to trailhead across from cemetery.
POORLY MARKED. Very confusing to find the actual trail (it’s the one across from the cemetery). We couldn’t even find the rest of the trail and missed most of the trail. Definitely will have to try another trail in this area, just not this one.
Nice walk, not too muddy. Kids liked bridge, even saw a turtle. They said other than that it wS “boring” but I enjoyed
This was a great loop. The pond area was very pretty. Map isn’t from this trail. Wasn’t sure of trailhead as it wasn’t marked. Ended up being Sweet Sawmill Road trail.
