HikingGreat!

Nice trail but a lot more up and down than the vin gormley loop. I would not recommend smaller children on this trail. There is only one good stream to stop at on this trail as opposed to several on the yellow trail.

Great trail, diverse, interesting outcroppings and stone walls. The “SammyC” part of this loop is white blazed; the “Gormley” part is yellow blazed.

Parking along side road when you arrive. 6.5 for outer loop. If cut through 2 miles in will be about 4.5-5 miles. Well marked maintained and very scenic with many unique bridges. Mix of elevations. Highly recommend.

What a beautiful day and a beautiful trail! My humans and I welcomed Fall today. Easy trail to navigate. Many off-shoot options if you wanted to expand your loop. I definitely recommend wearing hiking boots as there are an abundance of tree roots and rocks. It’s a beautiful walk through the woods. Nothing challenging and no vistas. Beautiful breeze today so there were no bugs and we came across no water as it has been very dry recently. If you’re looking for something simple I would definitely recommend this! Get out there and hike!

Still a bit buggy at the end of July, but a beautiful walk. Mossy beds, pine needles, exposed roots and rocks make this a watch-your-feet journey, but there is very little elevation change. Would be a fun mountain biking trail. I camped for the night about one mile in, but keep an eye out for hornet nests in the deadfall.

Great trail with lots up & down elevation change, walking along ridges, a little buggy this time of year. Lots of rocks & roots. Will be back to do more of the trails here.

Great trail! It was really quiet and had some nice hills and rocky areas. Really muddy in some places but easy to get around. Trail was mostly obvious but we did take a few wrong turns. Accidentally stumbled on a great view of Watchaug Pond!

We loved this trail. Lots of different terrain and it seemed like we went uphill all the way around the trail- great workout! Some areas were a bit boggy but not too bad to hop or skip on a log or stones.
