Great scenic trail, worth spending time. Could be a little dark depending on time of the day.

Super accessible from Providence and eastern Cranston, so you can get in a nature run/mini-hike on your lunch hour, or before/after work. Easy to follow signage and great scenery with trees, flowers, water birds, fountains, statues, and park users. There's a paved route for bikes and pedestrians (perfect if you use a wheelchair or stroller) but the wooded path is great to run or walk.

Quick, easy loop around the park. Most beautiful in summer and fall. This is my go-to spot when I’m short on time. If you hike with children, I start at the carousel for a ride and then walk to trail from there. (There is a walk/bike lane around the whole park if you have a stroller and still want to enjoy the park.) I bring my dog as well, sometimes people don’t have their dogs on a leash...don’t be one of those people.

Urban hike in a park. The trail is very well marked. There is no way you’ll get lost. There are sections that are absolutely lovely. Some sections go past houses, and other sections force you onto the road. Then there are the sections where it looks like people go to party. Alcohol containers, take out food containers, broken glass, drug paraphernalia, and condom wrappers everywhere. If those sections were better maintained this would be a gem in a city setting.

I've done this at various times throughout the year. The secret peninsula that goes into the water is always pretty. RW Park is a gem in Providence.

Trail is a little hard to follow if you don't have a map. And you do end up on a beaten path that disappears here and there.

Nice trail to walk with the dog, out of the way of the cars that whip through there and a little cooler for my pups paws with no cement. Theres a couple ups and downs and the trail is tight in some areas for passing but overall you can keep a good pace.
