A brief stretch along the river is pretty but part of the “loop” goes along the back of a large grocery store and is strewn with trash. You must go along a busy road or that end of the loop, and the other side is too overgrown to find. I retraced steps. The trail is also not marked and there are many branching trails, some of which go through homeless encampments. This is not a quiet getaway in the woods.

Very easy and very nice—- we crossed paths with only a few people, some dogs and a rabbit. Nice easy trail for an afternoon walk. Little to no bugs

The trail is a surprise running as it does between 2 busy parts of town. But for much of it, on the north side anyway, you’d never know you were so close to busy commercial areas. The trail from Rhodes on the Pawtucket is wide and well worn. It is an easy, short, wooded walk by the river. It ends up by Warwick Avenue and a sign says it continues across the bridge. The map in this app shows the trail running behind Shaw’s. But it is dirty and not kept up. We cut across the parking lot but the spot where the trail seemed to continue seemed quite overgrown so we turned around and retraced our steps. Will try to pick it up from the other (Post Rd) side another day.

super pretty, thickly wooded, easy trails... BUT all of the trails are unmarked and there are a ton of random trails off of the main path that lead to nowhere...or on occasion a squatters encampment.

Nice trail along the river. A little confusing because it’s not well marked. Pretty.

HikingGreat!

This trail is not very well marked and we got lost a few times. Also there are 2 bridges without hand rails, you need to be cautious while crossing. There is plenty of shade while walking. It still is an enjoyable hike.

this trail was okay. it was nice & shady & not overgrown. however, the trail signs were NOT clearly marked and I got lost more than once. there were bridges without sides, which was very scary and unsafe. there was also a tree on the path that blocked the way and rendered us incapable of continuing. however, there was a nice little beach area near the river.

I’m lucky enough to live on this trail! The wooded area behind Rhodes on the Pawtuxet is great, and the little side streets off of Broad St in Pawtuxet Village are really beautiful and quaint (worth going down some of them while you’re in the area!) I agree with other reviews where the part of the trail where you have to go on the main road near Shaw’s is pretty sketchy and can feel dangerous with cars going fast and broken glass on the sidewalks. It’s unfortunate that this area has to be part of this loop. I guess knowing that ahead of time, but trying to enjoy the good parts! And again, exploring some side streets while you’re in town!

I mean the first half mile was okay, but then it took me down this not even path behind shaws and it seemed very sketchy, shouldn’t be advertised as a loop trail

I love this river and love this trail. We weren’t aware parts of it weren’t a trail and it walked along the roads and through the village. It worked out, but having the dogs going over the bridge wasn’t ideal.

I enjoyed running it on a hot day. lots of shade. Not the best but good enough to get off the roads for a bit.
