This is the Moonrise Kingdom hike. Thick with rhodendran and hemlocks, glacial erratics and moss provides a memorable atmosphere. Several ridges and valleys to traverse which may require hands. The It is a little dangerous when wet.

All trails takes you to middle of hike. No matter. Super fun terrain. Tons of people out wearing orange. Dogs allowed off leash this time of year. Lovely, despite not much of a view.

Really nice trail...some spots are pretty challenging (Steep and rocky) but if you attack those spots with caution, you will be fine. The trails are marked well. Bring your orange hat to be safe.

Wonderful trail. Went in early August. Can make the route anywhere from 3-5.5 miles. Well maintained. Great parking. Wonderful views of the pond. Lots of wildlife; frogs, dragonflies, birds but not too buggy. Elevation throughout and def not for young children. Moderate rating is accurate. Enjoy.

Great trail, lots of variety in terrain, a couple things to note; 1. If you do the full trail, plan on 5.5 miles and not the 4.2 noted in the description. 2. The leg from Stubtown road to Canonchet is Moderate, from Canonchet to the lookout at Long Pond is probably still moderate but at a higher level. There's a few ravines you through so there's a lot of climb an decent that will test your endurance.

started at the southern end, the easy end. was a long arduous journey, but we persevered. 4 hours with a slow person and just over 4 miles.

This is by far the best trail that I’ve hiked in Rhode Island. Incredible views at the top of you start and go to the right, to Long Pond. Breathtaking!!!! I had no idea there were any viewpoints you could hike to in this state! A little bit of scrambling and walking on rocks but nothing too difficult. 11/10. I was SO pleasantly surprised!!!
