Just 10 minutes from downtown Providence, this forested trail provides scenic views of the former town reservoir. The Lime Rock Preserve is unique for its variety of habitats including woodlands, streams, open water and calcareous ledges. The Moshassuck River and the Manton Reservoir are both highlights along the trail. The 130 acre Preserve is an excellent place to watch the seasons change, take in the views of the pond, look for birds like migrant warblers, or look for animal tracks in the snow. Ledges of dolomitic marble produce a special calcareous soil that nurtures 30 rare plant species - more than any other site in Rhode Island. Beautiful ferns and wildflowers grow along ridges of recrystallized limestone. An abandoned electric rail-bed on western edge of the property provides scenic views of the former town reservoir.

A little wet and a few trees down but much better than I had anticipated considering the storm.

Really good for a hike with a 4 and 1 year old....

I marked it a 5 star but this was really only my 3rd hike so I don't have much to compare it to...but the path was great. Very easy to follow.
Note: There are 2 loops...blue is shorter but looks like a lot of uphill. Yellow is longer and leads to a pretty lake...but much flatter.

Just started hiking and this was a great place to start. GF and I did the 1.75m yellow trail with our small dog in tow and the three of us had a blast. Will go again and would highly recommend.

Great hike, beautiful scenery. Trails are blue and yellow- we walked both in a little over an hour. Fitbit tracked the walk as 2 miles. Went off the paths a little. Can't wait to go back!

I am overweight, out of shape, and have a herniated disc that causes sciatica. I had never been hiking before and after one hike on this trail, I'm hooked!

Love this little spot. It's a very easy walk but very peaceful and opens up to a nice little body of water. I love walking the dog here for something not overly strenuous.

You can access this area by typing in 61 Wilbur Rd Lincoln, RI into your GPS. The parking is diagonally across the street from that address. There is only enough parking for 2-3 cars. However, this is a great place for a hike! There is a good size lake in the middle of the trail and plenty of streams and wildlife.

Very nice trail, short. loops around a pond. Lots of interesting rock formations and types. Was a beautiful day when I visited so it was kind of crowded.
