This trail is moderate - some short but steep rocky climbs once you get to the ridge. Stunning views of the fall foliage and the shoreline in the distance, especially for such a short hike. There's a $7 entrance fee and you have the option to pay ahead on the sanctuary's website. Definitely exceeded my expectations!

Awesome hike with some challenging portions up by hanging rock (especially when you’re carrying a kid on your back!)!! It cost a few bucks to get in but you can buy tickets ahead of time online so that was a breeze. We do have a dog so I tend to avoid trails that don’t allow them but this one was actually worth it.

They are only open from 9 AM to 5 PM and they do suggest an a day donation of seven dollars. I did like this trail better than the other norman rock trail on the app.

Perfect day for a hike! We discovered a bunch of other trails not mapped. There is a $7 per person fee and they that credit cards. It worth the money.

Hiked this trail on a beautiful day. I find it interesting that this trail is labeled “easy”. The last section, especially on a windy day, was not easy. Good, supportive shoes/boots are a necessity due to the type of rock formations. The views are endless once out in the open. The sanctuary is a beautiful property with other scenic trails, one quite difficult in places, paralleling the Hanging Rock Trail. The gift shop has wonderful gifts for both children and adults. Highly recommend visiting.

Really great walk! I’ve been meaning to get up on the overlook and I’m so happy I finally did. The trail is very peaceful and well marked. It’s nice to just walk around in Norman bird sanctuary anyway!
