excellent spot right off the coast... great walking or jogging path... no stumps and no bumps
Fine, flat walk. No exposed tree roots or rocks to trip over. Good walk with children, strollers etc
This is the first entrance on RT. 1 North, not the main entrance. I was looking for something stroller friendly that could give me 4 miles or more. This works, but it's a loop. So you would just need to do it twice. Very pretty (November). Grass on the trails in some places was nice. There also nicely placed benches at the entrance and also by the water.
Neat loop trail. We saw a snake and a frog, plus lots of birds. Kids were bummed there was no place to explore the cove.
Nice hike. A good part is old pavement and then gravel trail. Be sure to follow the trail spurs out to the water’s edge.
This one is well marked. 2 beaches if you take the off trails. The water required water shoes. Some shady parts and some exposed to the sun. Open during COVID. Total is around 4.5 miles if you take the side trails to the beaches. Nice place to spend an afternoon.
This should not be rated as moderate, it should be easy! I walked this today, the trails are wide enough to drive a truck down, flat and beautifully maintained. It could be a long hike if you walk the whole thing, theres a couple of short side trails. Really nice scenery, wild life and ocean breezes, there's even a pretty decent outhouse in the lower parking lot to boot.
Very beautiful trails. Great for birders!! I saw my first upland sandpiper here as well as many gold finch, TONS of catbirds, osprey, towhees, red winged black birds- just to name a few. This is a nice easy hike to bring the kids on and there are little access points that bring you right to the water. I can imagine it'd be great for trail running (I'm not a runner, myself but there arnt many obstacles in the way, it's fairly flat and there is tons of room). Happy Trails! Daisy
