Nice easy stroll through a wildlife sanctuary that was once a military air base that has since grown in. A lot of low shrubs with some sporadic hardwoods and nice views of Ninigret pond.

Very beautiful trails. Great for birders!! I saw my first upland sandpiper here as well as many gold finch, TONS of catbirds, osprey, towhees, red winged black birds- just to name a few. This is a nice easy hike to bring the kids on and there are little access points that bring you right to the water. I can imagine it'd be great for trail running (I'm not a runner, myself but there arnt many obstacles in the way, it's fairly flat and there is tons of room). Happy Trails! Daisy
