Yough River Trail - Connelsville to Camp Carmel is a 7.8 mile point-to-point trail located near Connellsville, Pennsylvania and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking and mountain biking and is best used from March until November. Dogs are also able to use this trail.
Narrow rail-trail south out of town. (8 miles) Just out of Connellsville, the trail comes becoms part of Ohiopyle State Park. Unlike the Yough trail north of Connellsville, this was originally a single line of track so the trail is more narrow and close in. The increasingly rugged terrain has the trail cutting through more hillsides. This section also features the Greenwood and Bowest Bridges in rapid succession. Unfortunately, the valleys over which these bridges pass have absolutely no scenic value whatsoever. South of that, though, the trail plunges deeper into the wilderness. There are no trailside facilities along this section and between Connellsville and Ohiopyle.
