Nice short loop for an overnight. Was woken up by 2 people walking right thru our site at 2am which was odd. Heard an animal crying for most of the night. Easy hike with very little elevation. Decent lookout. Didn’t see many sites for camping but that could be because of all the leaves. The spot we stayed at was perfect.

More of a nature trail, but a nice little trip. Best part was the rock scramble.

HikingGreat!RockyScramble

First time we hiked Fox Gap to Wolf Rocks was at night, while it was cold, rainy, & foggy! It was a spur of the moment thing. But really cool. Our first time on the AT. So today, we tried it during the day. 70 & sunny! Not a bad hike. Easy til you got to the rock scramble about 2 miles in. Rick scramble wasn’t hard, but you have to feel comfortable climbing the rocks and walk over them. Some heights involved but really not too bad. All depends on your ability. We are casual hikers in our early 50’s. For what that’s worth. We continued on past wolf rocks thru what I called a mini Boulder field. Went to the Wolf Rocks bypass trail. Followed that to a spring and back. Then back to Fox Gap where we continued NOBO to Lunch Rocks Overlook. What a view! Highly recommend!

Got there around 830... parking was completely full but I only ran into a couple of people. Solid hike with nice views from the top of the ridge. My dog and I took the AT to the rocks and the bypass back. Solid climbing, she loved it as did I. They call it “Rocksylvania” for a reason....

Easy hike from an elevation standpoint. Typically, for this section, rocky. Really rocky. The high point at Wolf Rock is a scramble with great views as a reward. Trail was rerouted and is marked at the trailhead, just pay attention to the blazes.

8/28/2020. Of course it’s rocky it is the Appalachian Trail but a good work out. Some views but with the trees full there aren’t as many as there is sometimes. Wolf Rocks is a cool challenge especially for us older people.

The trail was well kept and well marked, the AT trail was rerouted so the AllTrails route is outdated. Although you could still follow the app and wind up at the same Wolf Rock junction, just know that the old route is not maintained so there were some fallen tree scattered along the old path. The rock scramble was manageable, we had our 8 and 10 yo with us and they had no problems, the rocks are large with defined edges which made finding foot holds easy. The views were okay, difficult to get a good vantage point with so much tree growth. But you can find some rock cropping at the top that will give you a peek over the tree lines. Throughout the hike we did have to contend with flies and mosquitoes for most of the hike except for at the top and by the parking lot. Also most of the trail you’re in the shade. There are also camping spots along the way but know that at the entrance there was a sign that prohibits fires.

Primarily easy, could maybe call the rock scramble moderate. Woods walk with limited views at best. As of 8/12/20, the AT has been rerouted and the current All Trails map doesn't reflect the change.

Did see 2 Rattlers on the way back. AT is permanent rerouted, and it's well marked via the white blazes. One of my favorite hikes so far! Nice rock scramble on the AT; not too many loose rocks so it made for a nice challenge that wasn't too frustrating.

It’s a good trail when your looking for something to do. Went after work while in Easton, PA. 20 minute drive. Feel better. Clear head.
