Wissahickon Creek Gorge Loop Trail is a 9.4 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania that features a waterfall and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from April until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Immerse yourself in a true nature experience just outside of the bustling city of Philadelphia on this gorgeous hike through Wissahickon Gorge. Following the white and orange trail on the east side of the creek and Forbidden Drive on the west, you’ll feel hundreds of miles away from the city despite being less than an hours drive away. As you walk the banks of the creek and cross covered bridges over the creek waters listen for the abundant birdlife as the chorus of chickadees, blue jays, and woodpeckers echoes through the forest. Start or end your hike with a snack or treat from the Valley Green Inn that sits right in the heart of Fairmount Park. It is almost too easy to spend a full day here walking in the woods.
There are several parking areas that offer access to the trail.

Trail was muddy at points. Beautiful views of the creek. Fun bridge crossings. Minimal elevation gain. A great hike!
east side rough for older dogs but worth it. Be pretty experienced do do it all.
Little icy, but not bad overall. Beware of dogs off leash with dimwitted owners. Besides that, great hike!
Moderately busy, nice, easy trail with few rock out cropping to break it up.
Such an amazing hike! First time here and will definitely be back!
