Really nice (and really popular) trail! There are many options to stay closer to the creek, which I did until that vector ended - because there are plenty of beautiful waterfalls to see! The water has a nice green color to it. Lot's of people cliff jumping, swimming, hanging out in the creek. Then you can head up the hill to get a nice view of the gorge. Great afternoon for hiking this trail. It had just finished raining so the trail was somewhat muddy. Beautiful scenery. Peaceful and quiet with only a few other hikers. Part of the trail was blocked off with a detour. Also, do not park along the road by the new parking lot. Cops are writing tickets up and down the road.

This was a great, short trail. There was snow but not enough to need snowshoes. The views of the river starting to ice over were amazing, and my dog loved the trail.

Nice hike, kid friendly. Some muddy areas. Cooper entrance was closed. Had to use Penn State Behrend's entrance; stop by police dept to get visitors pass to park.

Easy access to the trail. 6 mile creek runs through the area. The creek can become a raging river of the area gets a lot of rain in a short amount of time. Be careful!!! When you go, don’t park in front of the gate at the Cooper Road entrance. If you do Penn State Police will ticket you.

Dog friendly with access to fourmile creek. The creek has some small waterfalls and the trails have some other scenic spots. I gave it 4 stars because it is heavily populated and parking is inconvenient. The parking areas are usually full. You can park on campus by getting a parking pass.

Super easy to find off of Cooper Road or drop in from the Penn State Behrend Campus. I rate it at a 3 because it is heavily used- which is opposite of what I am looking for when I get out into the woods. Lots of exposed roots so when it is wet it can be quite slippery. Nice walks along fourmile creek- which is also quite slippery as it is all shale.

This was a nice shorter hike. It follows a creek and there are a lot of little offshoot trails that bring you closer to the edge to view the creek. That being said, it is a gorge, so watch your step near the edge. Some of the lower elevation offshoots bring you right to the edge where you could have a seat and put your feet in the water. When I went in the late afternoon during the summer there were quite a few people out, which I didn’t mind because it was my first time on the trail and the offshoot trails can make it hard to follow. The start of this trail (about the first mile) is wide and well used and I saw several people with small children and even jogging strollers, so it would be a good place to bring the family if you’re visiting other Erie, PA attractions. Overall a great little jaunt.

Easy hike, trail leads under highway above, so definitely not remote at all. Hike is along water with several small waterfalls. Great giant leaves in November all over the ground, pretty area.
