Our second attempt at this trail.. this time from the trail head and is blazed yellow, this follows an old log road the entire trail. We did go off trail to hit the mountain peak, hoping for views but there was an enclosure fence instead. Once we got back down to the blazed trail we continued on for a bit and then turned around at halfway as it was late afternoon. Along this we did not come across the old walnut trail blazed red that would make a loop. (We tried the red blazed before and it was not a trail anymore)

This is not the Walnut Trail, but it is an old Bridle Trail with the red blaze. This trail is apparently no longer in use or even labeled at the beginning. The correct Walnut Trailhead is labeled down the road.
