it's far shorter of a hike than I would have liked, but the view is gorgeous! if you bring a dog definitely keep them on the leash, the cliffs creep up on you and no matter how well your pup is trained it could be dangerous.

I hiked the trail yesterday, which is a nice stroll to a beautiful view. I also took an unblazed foot path (first left after returning from the vista) in an attempt to reach the bottom of the gorge, based on tail notes from hiking enthusiast Jeff Mitchell. Expect loose rock, bushwacking, and very steep slopes especially nearing the bottom. Easy to lose your way off the trail, if it can be called one, yet there is a way down to the gorge for the brave of heart. I decided to abandon the hike near the point where the slope drops off like an elevator shaft.

Went to check it out today. I wasn't sure to follow the main road or not so i went off on a different path and found some houses and turned around. Can anyone help I really want to see the view.

It's an easy hike up a service road, until you get to the trail. Located not far from the (kinda) steep hill. The trail will be on your right and marked by a black dot, on a tree. The view is very rewarding!

The view at Tank gorge is awesome, like someone said the beginning part is pretty boring. We missed the turn and hiked a bit further then we should have watch for orange marking on right side of trail going down first hill. If you hit a "t" you went to far and may go on a much longer hike to buzzard hill. Great beginner hike!

A little long and boring at the beginning, when you walk the open road, especially on a windy winter's day. I guess that was because we had to park at the first gate by the county road. Definitely watch the map because it is not very well marked! Rewarding when you reach your destination! The view is spectacular and there are many spots to take a look at what's down below.
