There are plenty of parking spaces available at Station Square itself but for those you will have to pay heaftily for. If you want to park for free, you'll need to go to the western end of the trail and park near the Duquesne Incline off of West Carson Street. There is a good view of the city from here and some architectural relics but no amenities. All the amenities are located at the other end of the trail at Station Square proper but, while there are plenty of restaurants (Joe's Crab Shack being my favorite) there are no public drinking water fountains.

More of a tourist location than a trail

Thursday, March 31, 2016

A wonderful, easy paved trail along the river, with historical markers along the way. The AllTrails app directions took me to the East end of the trail (no parking). So I ended up parking at the business complex at 3700 Water Street -- right on the trail.

A great trail with a short travel time and access for all activities from walking, jogging, leisure bike riding to serious competitive bikers. Travels along the Monongahela river and has some interecting views including the eagle family that has made there home above Carson street in the Hays woods near the Glenwood bridge. Many bird enthusiasts have been taking pictures of the Eagles from the trail itself!

My first "urban trail". Seems more of a night spot/tourist area to me. Lots of distractions.
