I've done this one twice now and I love it. It's definitely challenging because the whole trail is full of rocks, just like the name says, and the view is beautiful.
great trail and super quiet
Wear good shoes!! Watch for snakes. But a fun and challenging section of the trail. There is also a sort of mini river of rocks before the actually gigantic rock field that's worth checking out. I found some trash among the boulders, let's keep it clean.
Good hike but parts of it can be more on the hard side than moderate as the sign at the trailhead suggests. Definitely need a good pair of hiking shoes because it's a pretty rocky trail.
Excellent hike!! The rock river is just off the trail but a must to explore. Be cautious of snakes while navigating through the rocks. The hike in all took us about 4 hours but we did spend a fair amount of time playing in the rock river.
Exhausting but awesome hike!
One of my favs. I always go right, at the start. Savw hawk mnt for last.
River of rocks can be slippery, golden eagle ascent is completely vertical and exhausting but the reward of skyline trail is worth it. Big boulders, free hand scrambling and beautiful views both sides of the ridge.
