This was a fun hike down and back. The trail was very clear and traveled by many people. The views from the top were beautiful. A bit steep in spots but very manageable.

HikingGreat!

Didn't realize Trail 615 started in the recreation area. Took me a minute to figure that out :) But glad I started at the water and went up vs up at the Picnic lookout and came down. Was on my own and it was easy with a slight grade uphill the entire way to the overlook stairs. Benches along the way to stop if you need to. Stairs to the outlook were narrow but worth the short tight climb. Explored the rocks around the area super fun to explore slightly of trail at times.

Terrific hike. We went from the trailhead entry to Rimrock Overlook Trail, up to the overlook and back. Just at the bottom of the built staircase that leads up the last few meters to the top we turned right into the unmarked area and had a wonderful time climbing over the trails, rocks, and cold-air crevices. Found our own lookout spot on a huge flat boulder overlooking the rivier joint - as nice as the formal overlook (but harder to get to). Trail was well marked and maintained. We went on a Weds in August - crowds were light and generally respected social distancing. Bathrooms are located at top and bottom but are just port-a-potties at present; wished we had brought hand sanitizer in our packs.

Really a perfect trail. Gorgeous rock formations and water features all the way up. A steep and fun climb with rewarding views on top. A nice workout but also very kid friendly.

All uphill from the parking lot but wide path with switchbacks. There’s some cool views from the top and tight squeezes through the rocks. Regretting not bringing a swimsuit for the beach at the bottom!

The area of rocks around the parking lot was fun to explore. We enjoyed the areas where the caves were blowing out cold air and there were many varied rock formations. As for the actual trail down to the beach--it was not worth it. It was a gentle descent in a wooded area but not particularly scenic. At the end of the trail, I was expecting a great view but we could not determine exactly where the trail ended. There was a parking lot but you couldn't see much from there. I followed a path, thinking maybe that was it and I walked down near the water, but the view wasn't that great. The view from the TOP was great but I did not see the point of the 1.3 mile trail (2.6 round trip) down to Kinzua Beach. I'd suggest just exploring the rocky area above and the view from there.

Walking

Trails is a good hike. Relatively short but all up hill from the beach area so you’ll get a fair workout. At the top we Walked the road till we hit a side trail connect to rim rock loop. walked that to the reservoir and then cut trough the wood back to overlook trail. Was a bit of a rough hike as it’s pretty steep. Didn’t record all of this as battery was extremely low.

Very beautiful hike. A nice combination of hills and flat areas on the way up with plenty of places to rest if need be. The trail is nice a wide about 90% of the way. The overlook was a bit crowded and a little confusing to get up to but there was plenty of different ways up there. Beautiful rock formations, caves, and steps. Was well worth the view at the end! Had a wonderful little picnic on the rocks.

One of my favorite hikes I’ve done in awhile. The view was beautiful. I loved how you could just sit on top of some big boulders and just lookout to the amazing view. Then you can walk down and explore some little caves and climb some rocks. There was so much to look at and do that I would come back and hike this trail again.

I loved this trail. Very well marked, easy incline, beautiful views, and an amazing area full of rock staircases, small little cave like areas, trails to explore all over the summit and huge boulders. There was lots of water and a few muddy areas.

If you want awesome photos the sun sets in front of the view so am is best or capture the sunset. This hike was amazing. Once you get to the top breath taking view. Not ideal for small children getting up to the top is very dangerous with major drop offs. Only a few spots were muddy. Trail is well kept. Benches are all along lower portion if you need a rest. We took our time for photos and stayed at the top for a bit. Our time is ideal for those that want to enjoy their first time. Hiking stick would be helpful for steep part especially if you aren’t in the best shape or have balance issues. Worth it all. There is an easier trail at the top just to see the view.

What an absolutely breathtaking spot. The leaves were just beginning to change when I went which always adds to the beauty. The staircase through the rocks is AWESOME.

Awesome trail that is well kept. Plenty of exploring around the trail and places to climb big rocks. Narrow and steep stone stairwell at the top is a fun challenge. Great hike with the dog. Views at the top are amazing!

I would recommend saving your picnic to eat at the overlook than at a picnic table. The view is epic, and the rim rock is a nice place to relax.
