The trails are well kept and easy to read. There are some steep inclines but nothing too bad and the vistas are absolutely beautiful! They have some really cool areas that help you identify different birds and butterflies and in addition to that there are pamphlets in the parking area that help you identify trees along the paths. The old graveyard and building foundations were interesting as well.

Rider Park is a great hidden gem in the area. It has several trails of different lengths and difficulties. My favorite is the Katy Jane trail, which takes you by 2 stunning vistas. The trail is well maintained and clearly blazed. It's a relatively easy trail. Watch for wildlife.. saw a momma bear and some cubs here last spring, luckily they were running away from me! The Cheryl trail is nice too, takes you past some old homesteads and a cemetery, though is more of a nature trail, no vistas on that one.

We did the Katy Jane trail in the early morning and found it relatively easy. The first half is all uphill, but the trail is clear and well maintained. There are two beautiful vistas on this trail, highly recommended for a quick hike!

There are several different trails in Rider Park, different degrees of difficulty. Cheryl's Trail is a nice relatively easy trail with a guide to help identify local tree species. Even a short out and back loop trial that branched off the main trail.
The Katy Jane Trail id more difficult but a very nice trail with two beautiful vistas and if you don't have time for the whole trail you can take the shortcut less steep Saddle Trail back.
Then there is the Kennedy Trail with Doe Pen Vista

This park is actually close to Williamsport. It is easy to moderate, and has vistas. The park is open all year and is mainly used for hiking. Some use it for mountain biking. There is a fairly steep trail about 3 miles long, and another that is 5-7 miles long. There is a big picnic pavilion and a porta-potty! Lots of songbirds, turkey, deer, an occasional bear...
