The trail is perfect if a challenge is what you’re after. It starts off easy, then the small rocks underfoot remind you that you have ankles- and they don’t bend the way you think they may. As you continue up to Pulpit you’re now dealing with boulders. This is not easy nor moderate- it is climbing! If “hard” is defined as crampons and rope- yes it is moderate, but if you are not seasoned this is not the best path to get to the Pinnacle.

HikingGreat!

Even though the parking lot and road leading into the Hamburg parking lot was packed, I was able to hike up the longer trail to the pinnacle and only ran into five couples on the way up. I herd the shorter trail was packed. At the top it was not too over crowded which was nice! I then hiked to pulpit rock and back down using the road leading to the observatory. This was my first big hike alone and I felt completely safe!

Didn’t actually hike it - but wanted to review that at least today, there were so many cars leading up to the lot and hikers walking in the road that we just turned around. definitely heavily trafficked.

HikingGreat!Rocky

It was a great hike for someone who isn’t necessarily and beginner but wants a bit more of a challenge. The you get a lot of the elevation pretty immediately, I’d say the first 40-60 minutes so that’s when your cardio is being put to the test. A lot of big rocks and two beautiful vista views. Recommend very much, bring extra water and a snack!

Really great 10 miler. Wear hiking boots that cover your ankles for the more challenging rocky bits. Moderate is a fair description - maybe on the more challenging end of moderate, though! Really gorgeous views and great with our dog. Narrow trail at times - wear a mask.

Amazing vistas! Did this clockwise. I would rate this as hard not moderate. Did a little bushwhacking after the blue rocks but other than that the all trails map is good to follow.

Great trail, lots of parking at the trailhead and nice views. The blue rocks segment was a bit intense, very steep and slippery on the rocks going downhill. I also got a little bit lost but was able to relocate the trail pretty easily. A solid day overall.
