Part of this is a designated bike/walking lane on the main (paved) road that loops around the Presque Isle State Park, and part is a seperate sidewalk-type path. It's wide, flat and easy, and usually well maintained. Fall and spring, and early mornings, are the best times for this trail if you want less obstacles. It's two-way traffic but pleanty wide for passing. Working water fountains and bathrooms along the way between memorial day and labor day. Several rest facilities are open all year.

this is a nice relaxing trail rather you ride the road or trail, I like to trail ride in and road ride out.

Not very scenic, but pleasant.

I loved. I go there very often.

Much of what I traveled was essentially a bike lane along the road. Many cyclists were confused to see someone running against traffic but the trail was only on one side of the road so there was no avoiding it. The scenery was nice, especially the lake views.

The multiuse trail itself is a great way to see the park...but it is heavily used by EVERYONE (dog walkers, kids on bikes, rollerbladers...) If you are new to the park have at it but the interior trails and beach walks are where the real enjoyment and peacefulness are at.

Parts of this paved walkway are beautiful, with scenic views of the water and the city across the bay. In general, there is heavy foot traffic, not everyone picks up their dog's poop, and parts of the walkway are right next to the road (exhaust fumes). Nice path, and a nice walk with some good nature viewing. You can do all of this trail, or there are numerous parking areas where you can create your own loop. Restroom facilities are open from May to October (except at the Reservoir and ranger station where they are open year round) Watch for ticks on yourselves and your pets. Lyme disease is prevalent.

Perfect if you are into some sort of cardio. I.e. Kayaking, running, biking, skating etc... this place is a great find but beyond crowed during peak summer season.

Nice loop with lots to see. A bit too busy for our taste but if that doesn't bother you, definitely worth the visit.

Ride here all the time. Use the the lakeside trail a lot less traffic! It's a loop so you can turn around and come back on the same side.

High Lake Erie water has caused many parts of the trail to be under water...during Winter 2016.

Awesome place for any family event! I haven't had a chance to hike the trails but the water recreation is definitely an adventure in itself! Can't wait to hit the trails!!

Correction to my review: "There is a picnic table at the end of Graveyard Pond Trail (0.75) that overlooks the lagoons, not Dead Pond Trail which is through a wooded area following the road (2.5 mi) and mentioned later. Dead pond trail starts off the Sidewalk Trail, just a short ways from the PI Lighthouse parking area. This is a very popular nordic skiing trail if you don't care to start at the Rotary and cross paved roads. I guess I could have written reviews from several activity angles.

I love this place!!!!! My favorite early morning ride! The rides are beautiful BUT be careful because of you go later its PACKED and most of the ride is dodging people and dogs. I've witnessed a lot of dog fights and people not staying on there side of the trails making it hard to get around.

This is a great trail for runners, walkers, bikers, rollerbladers, etc. You can head for the water and go kayaking or canoeing. You can bring your own equipment or you can rent it if you are visiting from out of town. The main trail is a paved loop and is 13 miles with views of Lake Erie and the Bay. Many 5k, 10k, and even marathons (two complete loops) are held here. You can even venture off the paved trail to see bald eagle nests. Be careful if visiting on weekends during the summer as the trail can get very congested if starting from the first few parking areas.

Lot's of trails, loops, paved and rugged, marsh and sand, you name it, the trails are plentiful. All are essentially flat and well used by many visitors to PI. Be aware of ticks as signs are posted indicating high tick areas. A little prevention goes a long way, like Deep Woods Off, Skin So Soft, or any other tick deterent. Have fun.

This is a great paved trail. It actually is a 13 mile loop with several paved and unsaved trails leading from it. The main trail runs generally along the main roads. I like the main or multi purpose trail more for biking than hiking

Everyone who lives here absolutely LOVE our peninsula! We have migratory birds, lots of mammals, beauty, fresh air! It's only 5 mins from downtown! AMAZING! Where else can you live where you can go shopping and 15mins later (depending on traffic) be in such a beautiful place like Presque Isle?!? There are clearly defined trails, loads of beaches, convienant consessions, and bathrooms, showers and changing rooms! We also have volleyball courts and family friendly beaches. A couple of them don't go above the knee, good for little ones. All natural, these weren't made this way by humans for touristy convienance! Check out the website for more info. No I'm not partial, I just live in Erie :)
