This Michaux State Forest trail contains some steep climbs. The entire park can be viewed from the Pole Steeple Overlook, which is a quartzite rock outcropping. The trail begins at the Pole Steeple parking lot, along the Railroad Bed Road by Laurel Lake, and proceeds up to the rocky overlook.
Last time we hiked to the top... it started snowing and was absolutely amazing! Awesome trail for year round fun
This trail has 2 options for going up/down - steep and less steep. A few wooden benches at the level areas and awesome view!
Great quick hike
Great trail for a beginner hiker. The rock face view at the end is great. Bring some sandwiches and water and relax for a while when done. Also like the hard or easy split. Have completed this trail twice now.
Love this trail. As a beginning hiker I loved the option for less steep option. I am definitely going to frequent this trail. Best part is the frequency of log benches to break on.
Super fun trail with a nice view at the end. There are two ways to get up the mountain, you can chose between steep and then the less steep. 10/10 would hike again
Great mini hike. If you're looking for something that won't take all day with a beautiful view, this hike is perfect. We were out for about an hour and a half. A little steep in some spots but they have an option to take a less steep path. Would definitely do again.
I would not rate this trail as easy, it was definitely a bit more difficult, especially taking the steeper trail to get to the top. But the view is gorgeous and well worth it.
View is worth it, but I wouldn't rate it as easy, misleading to beginner hikers
