Don’t do this hike. Plenty of good ones in the area. This trail is overgrown with thorn bushes and tall grasses. It appears the park service has abandoned it. There are also a ton of flies and ticks. No fun. I recommend removing this from the platform. This route takes you off trail at times.

Good elevation and fairly technical with rocks on drops and climbs. Lots of thorns and North Loop Trail is very overgrown/poorly marked. Take water and gps.

The trail is wide and in decent condition. It uses some existing forest roads and old abandoned logging roads. It takes you mostly straight down over the hill for half the hike and back up the other. You get to see some nice rock formations in a couple sections. The growth of thorn bushes dominates vast sections of the forest undergrowth. Not many photo opps of views but still a pleasant place.

This is a strenuous trail. You cross water so good hiking footwear is important. Hiking poles help with rocky areas and greenbrier. Trail blazes mark trail grade, not named trails so care is needed to stay on your chosen route.

Your feet will get wet. Be sure to wear appropriate footwear. Great hike, great exercise.
