This hike starts at the parking area next to the Nedrow Cemetery on Painter Rock Rd, at first following the road north to the connector trail that goes over to the McKenna Trail. Go left on McKenna and follow to Painter Rock Trail and then the junction with the North Loop Trail. Follow the NLT all the way around to PRT once again, just east of Painter Rock. Visit Painter Rock and then retrace your steps back on the PRT to Painter Rock Rd (Nedrow Trail). Return to your car.

This is a strenuous trail. You cross water so good hiking footwear is important. Hiking poles help with rocky areas and greenbrier. Trail blazes mark trail grade, not named trails so care is needed to stay on your chosen route.
