North Park has a beautifully scenic 75-acre lake in the heart of the park. The 5 mile loop trail trail around the lake is well used by walkers, joggers, runners, cyclists, dog walkers, and skaters all year long. Upgrades to the lake trail are intended to improve trail safety for users while providing them with an opportunity to explore and experience the park's varied ecology.

Easy loop. Mostly flat. Designated walking and cycling lanes. Heavy traffic on weekends, but light very early in the morning. Nice bar restaurant on the lake as a great option to refuel.

very heavily trafficked. it's all along roadways, so if you have a dog that scares easily, this is not the walk for you...

Nice paved and maintained 5 mile loop around the lake in North Park. They now have the OTB cafe open, kayak rentals, and the GoAPE outdoor climbing park. Nice and maintained, kid and family friendly park just north of Pittsburgh.
