This is the first 2.6 miles of the North Country Trail - Wampum Chapter that starts on Rt. 251 right at the OH/PA line. The Wampum Chapter did a GREAT JOB setting up the trail head. There is a big sign, a box with a trail log and maps, and even a graveled parking section. The hill climbs aren't too bad at all and most of this section is pretty flat or on a low grade incline. The middle part of this hike takes you across a field that bursting with wildlife - from butterflys and big ant hills to deer and rabbits. The trail is well maintained and marked. Navigating it will be no trouble at all. Enjoy!
