rocky

Up and down, the trails are rocky and steep. Those on top are relatively flat. Following the primary trails is simply a big loop. Take a right at the top and follow the perimeter trail around the whole Mountain and enjoy several overlooks. If you hike to the Mike Lynch Overlook (Trail marker #3), where you can see Penn State's University Park campus and State College, the distance is 0.6 miles. This loop of 1.2 miles will take from 1 to 1 1/2 hours (assuming you take a break to enjoy the view). Safety Note: Fires are not permitted.

Easy to follow markings, steep and rocky in some places. Good for winter hiking too. There’s a trail dog that greets you when you park sometimes. Love to see him too

Nice trail with some cool views.Easy to hike.Everything clearly marked.

Nice hike, not for anyone who has a hard time with rocks , very quiet the day I was there, not much traffic on the trail, very enjoyable.

Very well maintained trail. Several great overlooks. The beginning and end of the trail are pretty steep for around a half mile.

This was a decent trail. There are only a couple overlooks that are worth seeing. The very beginning and very end were the only moderately difficult part of the whole trail. Other than that, it is fairly easy. Finished the whole loop in a little over 2 hours.

I always love taking this trail. A sense of achievement once getting to the top and rewarded with a view. My dog and I hiked up the white trail and down the blue trail. The trails are iced over making it a challenge so take caution!

Beautiful area and well marked trails and stations. The Mike Lynch vista looking over Beaver Stadium is pretty great.

Great Trail for people who just want to get out on a short weekend hike/bike. I live in the area and think that this trail is fun for everyone. Although steep in some places an experienced hiker/ biker should have no trouble at all.

Nice hike with great view of PSU campus. Lots of leaves on rocks makes for tricky downhill over last 1/2 mile

Nice trail. Rocky and steep in some spots. Annoying students playing music out of their phones instead of headphones.

Of the 8 or so posted scenic views only one is really worth it. That would be the first view if you take the counter clockwise route. It’s a good hike otherwise, moderate difficulty, well marked.
