This loop has become a weekend favorite as it's one of the best challenges for elevation in the suburban Philly area. Trails are well maintained with a mixture between natural pathways and gravel. There's a few streams and a larger Creek before the mount Misery trail for dogs to drink/swim. Only annoyance is that this time of year there are frequently weddings before the mount Misery trail and I've had to wait for professional photography sessions to let me pass. Not a huge deal, just kind of awkward.

Best local to philly elevation and challenge. Not over populated either. If you don’t want the cross the covered bridge on the road you can go straight down the library driveway and it crosses the creek and meets the path out at the other side of the stables near the parking area.

Took a beautiful hike here yesterday on an unseasonably warm day in January. The trees were bare since we are in the winter season but there was still a lot of beautiful nature to behold. There were a few uphill stints that got the blood moving. I even passed three men riding their horses along the trail and friendly fellow hikers walking with dogs. The only unexpected part of this hike was that it finished (or starts depending on the direction) by walking through a covered bridge that didn’t have a pedestrian walkway and there was a brief (2-3 min) stretch after the bridge where I had to walk beside a busy road. All in all though the hike was great and I would do it again!
