We hiked the 8 mile loop on May 20th and overnighted on the trail. We saw no other hikers on the trail and few bugs/mosquitoes. Some areas were a bit water logged but overall it was very well maintained and marked. I also liked the "hike-in" campground about halfway around the loop on the Kinzua river. Very picturesque and moderate to hard hiking throughout.

Well marked. Lots of creed/stream crossings. These were ok when we visited in late May 2018 but could be VERY challenging with higher water levels. Be prepared for multiple elevation changes. Lots of nice scenery and plenty of people walking, trail running, camping etc...
