bridges to springs to white pine to bridges. missed the "trail closed" sign on the white pine trail off the marilla springs trail. most of white pine was fine up to the overlook. got half way back down to the bridges trail and ran into the logging and lost the trail, assumed it was plowed over :(. was an adventurous last quarter mile or so off trail back to the bridges.

This was supposed to be a 1 mile loop. A third the way around, we had to turn back as the bridge was closed. Coming from the Outer Banks of NC, this was very disappointing.

This may be a great trail but it is closed at pretty much every spot due to logging going on. They lowered the water to ease in the logging efforts so even the water doesn’t look good and is too low to put a kayak in at the launch. Make sure it’s open before you go

Mountain bikingMuddy

A pleasant little loop with offshoot spurs to keep you going as long as you want. The loop portion is nearly completely flat. The offshoots are climbers with muddy flats & switchbacks, but any moderate biker should be able to handle it without dipping to the Granny gear.

Great hike! Took the white pine loop as well. Steep at first. Nice once you reach the clearing at the top.

Beautiful scenery, great for the little ones. We chose to complete this trail while picking up trash on Earth Day 2018.

Not just one trail! You can go on a short hike, very easy, around the lake. You can also go much further on other trails. (I took a pic of the map) Very well maintained. It's obvious the locals take pride. All around a great trail. I will go back again with my 6 yr old and go on additional trails.

We hiked here on a warm day in late December. The trail was traversable but there were a few difficult icy spots. An adult could easily identify these areas but small children who are still grasping the how-tos of hiking may not. The scenery was quiet, quaint and beautiful. It would be an easier hike in seasons without snow or after a considerable warm period where the snow has time to melt more.

First to Review

This is a flat crushed rock trail that circles the reservoir. The scenery is beautiful and there are often people fishing (particularly in the winter there will be people out ice fishing). The trailhead begins at a covered bridge where you can watch the water cascade down the spillway. Continuing on around the circle you will enter portions of wooded areas and cross two long (and scenic) wooden bridges. Lastly, for those looking for longer hikes, there are a number of other trails that connect into this one ranging from easy to moderate in difficulty, from 3-4 miles in length to 10+ depending on the route you choose.
