Always a great area to explore. Trails/paths are well cared for and easy to follow.

Walking the Great Meadow at Longwood is what I always do when I need a little me time. Be careful if it has rained recently or you’ll sink in the mud, but overall a beautiful hike anytime of year.

Meandering day amidst the blooms.

Love Longwood Gardens, lingering in the different gardens and taking the walk thru the meadow is worth every minute. Favorite areas: Meadow Garden, Oaks & Conifers... worth a full day maybe 2!

Nice brisk 32 degree night to stroll the Holiday gardens. Very crowded.

You could walk and explore Longwood for hours and miles and still not see the entire place. If you're looking for something a little quieter, the meadow is filled with wildflowers and wild grasses and has a few miles of paths. They are well kept so you're not wading through tall grass. Not many people walk back behind the chimes tower, though that is another lovely place to stroll; a bit hilly, tons of huge old trees, secluded. Most of Longwood's paths are paved, aside from the meadow. You can really have a nice walk anywhere around the grounds and through the conservatory, just depends on whether you want to deal with tons of people. The best times to go for lighter crowds are first thing or last thing during their open hours, or try to visit on a weekday.

I cannot say enough about how amazing this place is but be sure to plan your visit around one of their big fountain shows they are truly a spectacle.

Should be beautiful during seasons when lighting and fountains are switched on, not great during off seasons—not worth the ticket fee. No fountains or lighting were turned on and some accessible paths were closed, just the conservatory was open and pretty.

Great place to to take the family! most of the trails are paved so you can take a stroller on them and there's plenty of room for the kids to run around

This is a great garden that varies in your experience depending on what seasons, festive holidays or events you come to. Be ready to dress comfortable as the garden has plenty of areas to cover on foot. If you enjoy flowers and blooms of all kinds, this is an ideal place to spend the day. Be ready to pay for the price of admissions as this is not a free public garden/ park.

I've been to Longwood a lot and really enjoy it. Its a very easy place to walk around and offers a lot to see. New plants and shows are presented each season. Café food is prety good to. The 1906 restaurant is even better. Disclaimer: This is not a park. There are no arduous trails of any sort. For more info go to the website.

Membership is totally worth it for couples! We work 20 min from there and go whenever the weather permits. Summer flowers are amazing right now and Nightscape is memorising! Can't wait for the Italian Gardens to open up next spring!

Countless times. Seriously, my aunt lived near here when I grew up and this was all free. To my parents, this was like a walk around the neighborhood -- we did it all the time. Never knew how lucky I was. My favorite was the eye. You will understand when you see it. Now, my favorite is the treehouse. The kids love it. Great place

Beautiful gardens, easy trails to walk

Sun Feb 01 2015

I've been here twice, once in spring and for Christmas. Save your money and enjoy real nature or Christmas lights for free somewhere else.

Longwood Garden is lovely. Some people may not consider it a hiking trail because you have to pay to get in (but then again you have to pay to get into a lot of parks) but it is a very easy trail through very lovely gardens. Easy is good when you are old and have problems walking or when you have to push a stroller. This place is not only beautiful but designed for everyone to enjoy and you can do it at your leisure. Warning though, the food at the Café is expensive and it is best to bring a picnic lunch.
