One of out favorite family hikes/walks in the area. Super easy and just beautiful.
Buggy near the damn. Beautiful view of the lake!
Labor Day weekend 2019. Half the walk is through a camp ground. I felt as though I was intruding on their camping. I walked the whole trail to get my steps in but should have gone somewhere else.
If you are looking for an easy/flat trail this is a nice stroll by the lake. I would recommend extending your hike to the Lake W Creek Trail that almost connects to this one. If you do both you’ll get a combination of a longer hike (3 miles) and a change in scenery. Also, we had the trail to ourselves which was nice. I rated it a 3 because it’s not one I would repeat and doesn’t feel deep enough in nature.
Smooth easy trail following the shoreline. South of the visitors center/beach it is open with great views of the lake. North of the visitors center it is in the wood line but there are some points where you can go down the lakes edge. The trail is improved with gravel, mulch or pavement so it is easy walking for anyone. A pleasant walk.
