Beautiful trail. Lots of roots and slippery rocks but I was fine in running shoes. Just be slow and careful

One of my favorites! Took advantage of 57 degrees in December to get out and enjoy the trail.

Wish we could have actually hiked the whole trail. Plan at least 6hrs here and you wont regret it.

Nice trail. Very busy on weekends... be mindful that parking is limited at the mill. Same at Eckart bridge & I wouldn’t drive down to park at Eckart without 4x4

I had an overall great experience. Even with the heavy rain the night before the trail was in near perfect condition. Very easy to follow. The yellow blazes were well marked.

Beautiful scenery and a moderate level hike. I would recommend hiking boots and a hiking stick or poles. The terrain is rocky with tree roots so you need to be sure footed. I actually started from the point parking area and hiked to the mill and covered bridge then started to go further past Eckert bridge to the Breakneck falls. I ran into a couple girls who told me there’s no official trail up to falls...you have to climb some and recommended not doing it alone but it was doable. I turned around and will maybe try that another time. The trail was absolutely beautiful with a constant view of the water and rapids. It is a somewhat steep climb back to point parking area but not very long. My understanding is the kildoo parking area is a very steep climb. I did the hike on slippery rock gorge trail from hells hollow to past walnut flats last weekend...that was much more strenuous and although I loved it, this hike was more scenic to me.
