Hey All, Take a friend and two cars. Park one at the LT crossing Mine Rd. and the other at High Knob Rd. I suggest walking from Mine rd to High Knob rd as the climb up/down from the LT to Ketchum is brutal. This is a Stunning Hike!

Here is how to do the hike to see the best views. Start out at the trailhead gate that these directions take you to. About a .3 miles down the trail take a left on the "FR" trail along the creek. Follow the creek all the way until you merge with the "LT" trail. Stay on the LT trail until you hit the turn around point. If you continue past the Lower Alpine Vista for another .3 miles past the route on this map for this hike you'll run into the upper Alpine Vistas which is the best view with logs to sit on and a fire pit to get warm if you like. Turn around here and head back. Great hike, but is closer to 7 miles FYI. Follow my route or you'll end up putting in extra miles with no views.

A little slick and soft in some spots still, but overall a nice hike. Hung out on the lower vista for lunch. Extended things a bit with a part of a nearby nature trail and some swamp whacking along some power lines. Worth doing again one day.

Pretty awesome trail! Parked at the gate at the trailhead and followed road just till i could get close enough to the creek and just followed the creek for the majority of the day. The trail is pretty rocky so I would suggest boots and poles. I followed it till I came to the Loyalsock Trail junction and then followed the LT to Rhode's falls and came back. Plenty of waterfalls and not to mention traversing into a gorge! Hidden gem in the Loyalsock State Forest!

This is an awesome trail, with plenty of opportunities to fill a water bottle (bring your water purification methods, just in case). Beautiful views of several waterfalls, and scenic spots through the woods. In the summer, during dry spells, it may be easier to do this trail, as there are several spots you have to cross the creek, and when I went during high water and snow, it was very difficult at spots to cross - still possible, though, if you're able to balance your way across logs or jump from rock to rock. I went as far as Jack's Window overlook from High Point Knob Road, and even though the trail takes you zig zagging down the mountain, I found on my way back that it is much better to just follow the creek from the end of this first mile long trail and, following the creek instead of the trail, it will save you a lot of muddy aggravation and more "boring" scenery, if logging trail-style hiking isn't your thing. Once you follow the creek for a little distance, maybe a mile or so, you will pick up the LT again, and this is where the scenery gets amazing! Will definitely plan on doing this again!

Absolutely loved this trail . It was so beautiful and peaceful. I mostly hiked off trail following Ketchum Run down creek , until It connected to the Loyalsock trail, then I followed that until I reached Rode Falls, in all it took me about 3 hours with frequent stops for pictures along the way . I highly recommend proper footwear as it was a bit muddy, slippery, rocky and steep in some spots. I did this on a Friday morning, was out there for a total of 4 1/2 hours and saw only two other people who were on their way out. The weather was perfect, but not too warm that I hard to worry about bugs . Great solo hike , will definitely visit again!

Great hike . Lower alpine vista is a perfect destination. Next time we will skip the additional uphill to upper alpine vista.

Trail starts very easy but after a mile and half becomes very difficult especially if you go down to the ladder. A few muddy spots some water crossings nothing crazy as for that kinda thing. Some step inclines. Over all great trip plenty of areas to camp.

This trail was alot of fun. A little difficult in the beginning to find your way but fairly easy after you get on the loyal sock trail. Beautiful views and just a great all around hike. The only criticism was that the bugs were horrible. Literally could not stand still at the overlook. Other than that, an amazing day.

Incredible scenery throughout Ketchum. The creek rambles it’s way through the Forrest with some great gullies that have been carved out.

The little over a mile to the Loyalsock Trail was muddy and required watching out for horse droppings, but the LT itself is well maintained. Make sure when you come to the junction of blue, red, and yellow blazes you follow the yellow blazes to the left to connect with the LT. I only went as far as Rode Falls and then turned around. I am saving the vistas for later! The ladder is not too rickety or scary. Keep exploring, Mr. Nutters

This route was 5.1 miles point to point with a small loop using the Red X trail. (side trail of LT) Using the Coal Mine Road(gated at times) drive to the LT Trail post and park. This route uses more of the Loyalsock Trail, has 2 great vistas, and a waterfall. The trail starts down hill.. remember what goes down must come back up! Take a right at the Ladder Ahead sign to go to the falls, either back track from there or brave the ladder.. following the LT back to Red X trail makes a small loop.

I did the entire loop starting on the Fern Rock Trail and then bushwacking down the gorge until I reached the LT which led me to Worlds End Rd. Then followed the blue/red trail to High Knob Rd parking lot. Probably about 7 miles total. Trail was super icy and snowy, so I would highly recommend not doing this hike in the winter unless you have proper footwear. The gorge is beautiful and I passed lots of waterfalls and cascades. I would love to return in the summer. Didn't pass a single soul the entire time. 5 hours of hiking in all.

This trail is located in Worlds End State Park and is a section of the "LT" or Loyalsock Trail (The Loyalsock Trail extends 59.5 miles through 3 townships... a must see) I planned this 7 mile hike as an overnight trip which I would recommend to anyone that has the time. The two vistas along this trail are unbelievably beautiful, even when it may be overcast. Once you reach the gorge itself you will be blown away.... It is stunning. If you do a one day in and out be prepared for a more strenuous hike.

Nearly completed the loop but it was getting so I opted for a short back to the car, The hike it self was awesome. A bit of a climb to upper Alpine Vista Started out at the head of Fern Rock Nature Trail then cut through the woods to Ketchum Run and the Loyal Sock Trail. Followed the LT trail passing several waterfalls including Lee Falls and Rode Falls. Then climbing to the vistas and an easy to moderate walk after that
