This was a nice trail and was not heavily trafficked. A great walk around the lake and easy for any type of hiker or walker wanting to have some quiet moments with beautiful scenery.

Love the loop around the water for a run or a walk, expect to get wet feet during the rainy times of the year when going through the overflow. Also love the muddy trails through the woods and all the efforts done to make and keep them there!

Update as of Fall 2019, there is approximately nine miles of semi- primitive singletrack trails in the adjacent wooded areas on both sides of the lake for mountain biking and hiking. All trails are maintained by volunteer effort only so there is quite a bit of water and muddy spots in the trails but still a very fun place to ride.

This was a great, easy trail around the reservoir. There were more people in the water than on the trail, and the dogs loved it.

Trails is in great shape. Dry and well taken care of. Someone’s been cutting some new paths this year!

Make sure you have bug spray close to evening...there are a lot of bugs. We love this trail for walking, biking and taking the dog swimming.

Nice trail for someone who has not been on a mountainbike or any bike for a few years.

Nice little hike! Very easy, flat terrain the entire way. If the spillway is flooded, you may have to cross some water (no more than ankle deep) to complete the loop. Have spotted deer, bald eagles, beaver and many variety of birds & other everyday wildlife. Quick little loop that can be done in less than an hour! Great to wind down after a long work day. If you are worried about getting your feet wet, start from the NY parking lot and hike counter-clockwise, you will have only a few hundred yards to walk with wet feet before you’re done!

After kayaking around the reservoir I hiked the trail around the shore. It’s very easy, about 3 1/2 miles. I did it at Sunset and it was beautiful! Saw some cranes and just as it was getting dark some beavers in the water.

I walk here all the time, it's beautiful and convenient in all seasons. There is lots of wildlife including herons, Kingfishers, and coyotes.

My wife and two doggies use this trail almost once a week with good weather. The trail that follows around the reservoir is well kept and easy to walk. The dogs love running and swimming along the way. You will commonly bump into a few people along the way who are hiking, fishing or kyaking and even horses! Keep an eye out for dangerous algae because last year (fall) it was posted not to enter the water but it's safe now. It's easily one of my favorite hikes.
