Hopewell Fire Tower via Boone Trail is a 2.9 mile out and back trail located near Douglassville, Pennsylvania that features a great forest setting and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options.
This trail is relatively pedestrian if done as an out & back - very mild grade, not much to see, fire tower is closed, and you end in a parking lot. However I did not (and I doubt many others do) stick to the out & back route. Turned it into a loop using the Horse-Shoe trail and took a tour past both lakes and the Hopewell Furnace. French Creek Park has a great trail system with some gorgeous lake views and significant history. Pick up a map, get out there and explore! Sticking to any one trail here will be underwhelming.
Gorgeous trail. 10 miles of fun. Nice views of the lake and good people watching around the pool area. Also, saw dogs paddle boating. 10/10.
Awesome Loop! Park at Pool side lot, Start at parking lot bathrooms, loop brings you back to start. Water access on route Scott’s Run Dam water pumps and bathrooms, Hopewell Lake boat launch, water and bathrooms.
