great partially paved trail along the creek! shaded and clear. there is a "snake" made from painted rocks you can add to along the trail! were there after a storm and they were working on clearing the fallen trees

Honestly too noisy & over grown. Not our best hike. Its too close to private property and too noisy of a walk. Did not enjoy.

Great trail. It is a Mostly shaded and level out and back hike. There are two walking bridges over the French Creek. There is also the ruins of the Rapps Dam. The mill race way is still visible along the trail which fed water to the mill on Rapps Dam Rd. The mill race inlet at the dam ruins and what I assume is some sort of drain feature are along the way are some interesting historic features.

Flat packed earth trail through the woods with good access to the creek and a few bridges. I stayed on the path closer to the creek for most of the trail. It was better than the open central trail. 4 star because I am not fond of out and back trails and there wasn’t much to distinguish this trail.

not one for immediately following any significant rainfall, but very flat and a few good spots for a break in the creek. looks like it could be a nice creek for tubing

Beautiful trail that runs along a creek, very easy to walk with family. Lots to explore.

Walking

Really lovely trail, wide and flat in spots. A couple of nice bridges for the kids to climb around under, and the walk follows a pretty creek. Our near-lunch walk found medium traffic, and everyone was respecting social distancing and very polite. (Covid note)

Very easy little domesticated trail. Pretty dry after light rain. Decent wildlife (fish, insects, snakes) and nice landscape around the river.

Relaxing, easy hike with lots of opportunity to detour down towards water. Nice weather brings out many walkers, bikers, dogs, etc. A local favorite.

Well-packed and very scenic. This is a very easy trail filled with great spots to take in the French Creek. I did notice quite a few dogs not on a leash...just something to be aware of.

Enjoy this natural trail along a very scenic waterway, especially in the springtime. Along the creek pathway makes for a more interesting and challenging ride. Make sure it hasn't recently rained when you go!

Running

Mostly loamy with some hard pack sections and some root and rock segments. A winding fisherman’s path off the main trail along the stream bank makes for a more interesting run. Minimal elevation with a couple of short, punchy climbs, there’s a small paved segment near Rapps Damn Road covered bridge. For a bonus loop travel southeast on Rapps Damn for .2 miles past National Guard complex to a network of unmarked trails.

Maybe avoid in deep summer. I bet it's lovely October-April. If you go in summer like us, bring bug spray. Flat wide trail next to river. The river is beautiful and there's a really nice bridge.
