Getting There

Surrounded by suburbia, Fall Run is nestled in a wooded ravine carved by the stream by the same name. Wooden bridges cross the stream several times and a set of wooden stairs lead you from the base to the top of the 30-foot waterfall just north of the trail mid-point. The trail is generally wide and smooth, but can be muddy in wet weather. The stream itself is shallow and easily accessible at many points, including near the main fall and on hot summer days there are often children splashing in it.

The park includes a playground, picnic pavillion, soccer field, basketball court, and port-a-john. Most stream crossings are by wooden bridge. Two benches are along the trail. A set of wooden steps comprise the path of the trail from the base of the main falls to the top.

From Route 8 in Glenshaw at the light directly opposite the large, orange Harley Davidson dealership follow Fall Run Road 115m to the park entrance on your left. The park road ends at the trailhead and a small parking lot.

Lovely stream throughout & mostly well made bridges. The last one is broken & after that the next one is flooded and then the trail ends. Rainy day so lots of puddles but still very tranquil.

Nice easy path with many beautiful falls, but crowded after 10am. It was fun to walk back along the creek bed.

Super easy hike with a good payoff. As of 6/8 the waterfall was starting to become a trickle. Took two dogs and a toddler in a pack. Tons of families there. Got there at 9 and took our time, by the time we left around 1030 people were fighting for parking spots. Go early!

Short and easy trail through the ravine and along the creek with a decent sized waterfall. A little busy but still a good trail.

I love this trail, it’s has beautiful scenery with the creek. Most of the creek can be walked on instead of the trail because the water is very shallow and there’s paths made off of the main path. There’s a waterfall that’s gorgeous and a lot of kids like playing there. I’d say this trail is for nature walks and exploring more than for exercise

if there wasn't a pandemic this park trail would be amazing with kids. Beautiful creek and well maintained. However, it was crazy crowded, no one had masks, and no one was even attempting to social distance. My advice, if there aren't at least half the parking spots open, turn around and go elsewhere.

Nice easy stroll next to a meandering stream. High traffic but enough width to avoid crowding. Path diverts in little parallel paths that hug the stream. Nice for dogs to grab a drink and cool their paws. Overall nice out and back less than 2 miles.

Nice little trail to the falls. Easy walk for families and good for dogs (on leash). Young children can “scramble” on the rocks on the creek bed.

Beautiful trail, can be crowded. The waterfall is lovely and I enjoyed the sounds of the water throughout the trail. Kid & dog friendly.

It is a such little gem!!! For a while it was not as well-known but the word is out and in these times of Covid-19, as well as it being Mother’s Day it was extraordinarily busy but if you go and walk past the falls further down it gets quiet and peaceful, it would be nice to hit it at a the less popular time/day, they’ve done more to make it more passible. with rocks and also logs to edge the trails... it seems like there’s more storm damage there since the last time I was there.

Beautiful lovely little hidden gem in the suburbs. Great for kids. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of wild flowers. Lots of people on the trail but that’s everywhere these days.

Nice trail in the suburbs of Pittsburgh. Started at lower parking lot which was very crowded (it was a nice day, lots of families there), easy uphill to top lot with nice views of the creek and running water throughout. Falls area was pretty! Trail was overcrowded and lots of kids in creek and by falls. All downhill on way back, very easy on the way down. Wooden stairs throughout different points. Overall, would do again, maybe on less nice of a day.

This trail is my favorite trail ever. It is very nice how you can freely go in the water. My kids absolutely love coming here. I highly recommend this!

Great trial and clean! Beautiful stream and waterfall. If you’re concerned right now being around a lot of people this trail is not for you. Lots of folks who are not practicing distancing. We had a wonderful time though :)

Nice, easy hike to a waterfall on a well maintained path. Scenery is pretty and a good place to take your dog. Usually busy but everyone I've met so far has been friendly.

Great easy trail. The dogs loved it. Lots of spots to access the creek along the way to waterfall. Can't wait to check it out in warmer weather. Wasn't terribly muddy after a big rain, but still some spots. Fairly heavily trafficked trail.

Great trail for a short hike. I noticed more people leaving their trash lately though. I suggest bringing some gloves and a plastic bag if you wanna help clean up/keep our beautiful parks open. I did it twice to get some extra steps in the other day.

Beautiful trail right off route 8, reminds me of a little muddy creek falls (deep creek MD) lots of nice little waterfalls and areas you can walk right along or in the water. One very nice 40-50ft waterfall is worth the trip.
