Road bikingGreat!

Beautiful Fall leaves (October) for entire trail. Lehigh river runs along the trail for most of the way. A few bridges with beautiful overlooks. A couple of waterfalls. Path was flat the whole way but good for an easy, beautiful day.

Running

Awesome place to run: the gravel makes for lower impact running, and as a well-maintained trail, there’s no roots or rocks to worry about tripping over. Most people were biking though. We walked one day and ran the other. We covered from the White Haven parking lot (130) to mile 127.5, and from the Rockport parking lot (121) to mile 124.5. We heard what we are fairly certain was a mountain lion - their calls are distinct. We didn’t see or hear many birds. The waterfalls, river, natural rock formations, and old locks all make for a beautiful setting.

Flat, partially paved and part gravel. Very little shade which made our time there short on a super hot day. More bikers than foot traffic.

It was a nice trail but very flat and not very varied. We expected more changes in elevation. We found a neat cave with bats at the end of the trail and that was a highlight.

Gravel trail that runs parallel to the Lehigh River. We hiked in winter and it was perfectly fine, if not terribly exciting. There are not many trail signs within Lehigh Gorge, so to access this one —best for a bike ride or fitness walk/run as opposed to nature hike—walk straight through parking lot to trail head.

We did 4 miles up then back from the starting point. It was muddy but a great scenic walk.
