D&L Trail: Jim Thorpe to White Haven is a 24.4 mile moderately trafficked point-to-point trail located near Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania that features a waterfall and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Many sections of packed, crushed stone. Other sections undeveloped and may only be passable by hiking or mountain bike.
January 24, 2021January 23, 2021Great trail. Right along the river, great for kids and dogs too. Found some beautiful small painted rocks along the way that someone left for kids to find.... left them there for others to appreciate.

October 17, 2020October 11, 2020Beautiful Fall leaves (October) for entire trail. Lehigh river runs along the trail for most of the way. A few bridges with beautiful overlooks. A couple of waterfalls. Path was flat the whole way but good for an easy, beautiful day.

September 12, 2020September 6, 2020Awesome place to run: the gravel makes for lower impact running, and as a well-maintained trail, there’s no roots or rocks to worry about tripping over. Most people were biking though. We walked one day and ran the other. We covered from the White Haven parking lot (130) to mile 127.5, and from the Rockport parking lot (121) to mile 124.5. We heard what we are fairly certain was a mountain lion - their calls are distinct. We didn’t see or hear many birds. The waterfalls, river, natural rock formations, and old locks all make for a beautiful setting.

July 23, 2020It was a nice trail but very flat and not very varied. We expected more changes in elevation. We found a neat cave with bats at the end of the trail and that was a highlight.
