It seems everyone in Manayunk knows the tow path along the river. Few have found this trail from downtown Manayunk to the Baga Cynwyd SEPTA station, and it's got it all: views over Manayunk, the canal, river, and freeway, a pleasant stream, interpretive signage, access to the historic cemetery, and even a cafe at the end of the trail! With virtually no elevation change and both paved and unpaved paths, it's accessible for everyone from walkers to runners, tricycles to road bikes.

While the trail itself is a little short for biking (what I primarily use it for), there is a gate right off of it into the West Laurel Hill Cemetery-- a fascinating place with extensive intertwined roads and lots of the hills. The funerary architecture is amazing. There's parking right across from the gate on the trail, off Belmont and Levering Mill Road, but I usually park at the Rock Hill Rd trailhead (shares a lot with a CVS). From there, it is pretty much all up hill (slow rise, but noticeable on a bike) to Cynwyd Station and you can also turn off to do the bridge over the Schuykill.

A Manayunk must-do! Highly accessible, on foot or on wheels, for all ages and abilities--with a nice cafe (and a train into the city!) at the finish line.
