Core Creek Park Trail is a 4.4 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Langhorne, Pennsylvania that features a lake and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from March until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
There are easy mountain bike trails and horse trails here as well as hiking trails. This is a great place to flat-water kayak or canoe. It is about 175 acres in size with small inlets and coves throughout. It is also very good for fishing and is stocked with trout annually. Bird watchers will find many different species of birds including a nesting pair of Bald Eagles at the far end of the lake ( PLEASE do not disturb them!). The only wheelchair and stroller accessible areas are alongside the paved roads because the trails are often narrow (less than three feet) and uneven with broken boardwalks, or roots in the path.
There is a restroom by the parking area. www.buckscounty.org/.../parksandrec/Parks/CoreCreek.aspx
This was a great trail! It was visually interesting with a lot of twists and turns, roots, ups and downs, and some little bridges but it was still easy enough for the kiddos! We were able to see some deer and birds up close. I would definitely recommend a visit! Also, I’m not into biking, but there were a lot of off road bikers there.
We did trash pickup for MLK day of service, hiked out 2 large bags. Very muddy.
Great trail.. pretty muddy and slippery in spots as we went along. I would have given 5 stars but the blazes were missing or limited in areas that are easy to get lost off of the right trail. We ended up doing 2 extra miles going off trail.
There were trail blazes, but it definitely was confusing to follow at times. We completely missed a whole loop. Lots of mud—would recommend boots. Overall, it was an easy and fun hike without any inclines. Not too secluded as it is near roads and the park’s fields.
The trail was a good walk. Probably best for mountain biking, not too much to see on the hike. The walk along the lake is nice, and there is a cat colony at the end. Lots of cute cats. There is invasive multiflora rose along the whole trail, so watch for thorns.
Lots of bikes, so you have to keep an eye out for them. The lake is beautiful. The trail is not marked.
Not well marked. Little difficult sharing with cyclists, however everyone was friendly.
a little on the soggy side but a nice patch of woods. the outer edge gets pretty close to the road and loses the nature vibe a bit.
Nice trail with little elevation - more of a nature walk than hike. Mix of walking along the cornfield, within the trees and along the lake. No blazes or markers so follow the map if you want to go the exact route. Not crowded and it has little bridges in muddy and stream sections. 4 stars due to lack of blazes/markers.
