This was a pretty leisure trail. The area is well marked with plenty of interesting informational placards throughout. For me, the most interesting part was definitely the dynamite shed! Overall a nice and fun little hike.

HikingSnow

My wife and I just walked the river road trail to the fire tower and the scenic lookout. We enjoyed the hike. We parked across the street at park due to the road being closed due to snow covered. It was abut 2 miles to get to the fire tower in the snow. Forest is beautiful covered in snow. I would say it was a moderate walk. We enjoyed walking through the snow.

HikingGreat!

really well marked with yellow and red squares mostly, went off trail twice near roads for alternate entrances. near the end is in fact out by cabins and a rocky road then dives back to the start a little ways down (as others mention sharp left when you reenter trail off the road). Nice interpretative trail with explanations about deer fencing and trees. No one else was out there on a sunny fall afternoon, but I felt very safe.

Zoe and I went late evening into the old growth forest where the huge evergreens blocked most of the sun. A very educational hike thanks to the information plaques which described and explained things and trees along the way. Some cabins at Henry Run looked like possibilities for vacation.

Horseback riding

Great trail ride there were several narrow bridges to cross which added some challenge for the horse but good training. Very quiet and beautiful surroundings highly recommend it. .

Short trail and just a small climb then down. Last bit was on a dirt road blah. Several portions very covered with tree roots. A bit slippery when wet. Some very old trees identified. And plenty of birds too

Beautiful hike, we did hit a fork in the road where we thought it would loop around to, but it never did. We will have to go back some day and take the left fork. Trail does kind of empty out on to the road at the end, follow it down hill about 100 feet to hop back into the trail then take a sharp left to get back to the trail head.

It was a nice short hike for me but I did get confused when I came off the trail onto a road with cabins.... turns out I needed to follow the road just a short ways down to get back on the trail.

Beautiful trail! Usually quiet and you will not run into many others on the trail. I've done this trail with young children and their grandfather. there are a few steep sections, but everyone enjoyed the hike
