It is a great trail but I suggest first time on it pay attention to the app and that abrupt change in direction. I am new to the app and didn’t realize the trail is also a old road.

Tons of mountain laurel in mid-June. We would try the loop clockwise next time – counterclockwise meant a long uphill slog towards the end. Great trail!

This trail is great if you are looking for something lightly traveled. Not a lot of shade though.

One of my favorite trails in the park . Great terrain changes - unusual for central pa, and dog friendly.

Went on a Wednesday afternoon this Spring. It was still brisk but comfortable with the sun on our back. Great variation through the hike. The rangers’ hard work is obvious. We had the hike to ourselves. I brought some binoculars along. Lots of activity in the lower bushes and pine trees. Heard a pileated woodpecker. Like others, we missed the turn too. I moved a stone the twice the size of a bowling ball to the intersection where you need to turn. Hopefully that’ll help some. On some of the terrain looping back up the trail was rocky, but that’s PA for you.

Great simple day hike. Not much shade. Early on the hike you’ll switch from Red swatches to blue swatches by staying straight. Also, the turn at the top of the map is not well marked; we only knew that we’d missed the turn because the AllTrails tracker told us we had. Otherwise, the hike would have been a little shorter. Overall, besides the lack of trail markings, the hike was simple, quiet, and relaxing. Would recommend.

Nice hike. Mostly on the ridge tops. Only saw two other hikers, and it was a Saturday.

Nice trail, not the best marked trail, but a great diversity of different terrain!

It’s a nice trail for an afternoon hike, especially if you have smaller children. It is poorly marked and we ended up missing a turn and ended up adding about another mile to our hike.

Trail was a little narrow and rocky for the first half. Trail cuts back on itself at the far end and we missed the turn so got in an extra half mile. :) Back loop is on a road almost entirely on an incline. Otherwise a fun trail! The puppy however was not a fan!

great hike! not a whole lot of shade so thankfully it wasnt terribly hot today. make sure you take plenty of water though. a little confusing coming off the mountain - the trail seems to continue straight, but theres actually a small switchback. just make sure you refer to the alltrails map for clarification :) pretty scenery, different terrain. loved it!

Started at Ridge Rd, then immediately off onto C.H. Trail with red blazes which was single track thru much mature Mtn Laurel. After 1.3 mi. trail crossed a de-forested ridge top with no blazes but a solid single track. Kept descending until we intersected a steep double tracked unmarked road down to Milesburn Rd. 3.3 miles. Though very remote and quiet, and with views of Shippensburg, the deforested part was unattractive. I recommend using two cars - one at end at Milesburn, one at Ridge Rd to avoid more uphill. Try Astronomy Trail for same area with no wrecked forested areas. Both are currently in use by bikers.

Nice easy multi-use trail that would be good year round. During the fall and winter you will be able to see the views better as there aren't leaves on the trees.
