Beltzville State Park has several trails, with these three grouped together, a 5+ mile loop on the northeast side of the lake, located near Lehighton, Pennsylvania. The trail is primarily used for hiking and is accessible year-round. Christman is a 2.5mi loop, relatively flat, with a .5 mile alternate route down a ravine. It may also be biked or skied. Falls and Cove Ridge trails are moderately more difficult, with some rocky terrain heading up past the waterfalls, and a steep, but short, climb beyond.

Only gave it a 4 because we tried to follow the trail that follows the creek. We found the blue markers but they seemed to lead into the brush or the water. So we were disappointed as we were looking for a longer hike. All this being said, there has been a ton of rain with lots of flash flood warnings the last few weeks, so possibly the trail along the water is covered??? We took the Christman trail which was a wonder walk. The side trails lead to nice views of water. It's still a great walk on this trail. Very beautiful at the little falls and bridge.

We hike the white and blue trails , like other people have commented some spots are not marked good but with the help of the state park trail maps we found our way ok and you can use your GPS nice hike enjoyed the trail through the woods and by the falls, watch lots of leaves and pine needles can be slippery especially on the steep trails

It was a decent trail. little confused by the posted trail as it went into the water. this was my first time using the app but when I got done with the hike I realized it would have been better to used the saved recordings of other users as they were able to find the correct markings to follow...next time. from what I did see there werent that many views or real falls. a good hike just to walk through woods.

Nice hike to waterfall make sure you take the turn offs or you will miss the best views. Beginning and end of hike simple grassy route. The lake is beautiful

Orange to blue blaze well marked, a little difficulty finding white but once we did it followed the ridge above the lake, beautiful! Then we looped back down. Nice little waterfall too

Thanks to the directions in the previous reviews I was able to find this trail and go right to the falls. It's a nice hiking area. Bring orange during hunting season. Nice waterfall and trail along creek.

Signage to the entrance to the trails are terrible. Signs are very small . If you plan to hike the Christman/Falls/Cove Ridge just be aware that the entrances to the trails are about 3 miles before the beach entrance. Look for the sign on the left side of the road if you are driving towards the lake/beach area. a nice hike if you take the white trail. Look for the "Wild Creek Trail" sign. Once there, you will see a white/blue trail and a yellow trail. The yellow trail is s shorter trail the loops and is away from the falls. If you go towards the white/blue trail, it will lead you to the falls. The blue trail is the trail that will take you directly to the fall and back, probably little over a mile to and from the falls. After you look at the falls and follow the white trail, this trail will take you down the edge of the lake in a big loop. The lake is somewhat visible, but mostly tree covered and cannot get too close to the edge. Some areas are steep and slippery due to layers of pine needles and leaves. The trails are not beautiful and does not have breathtaking vistas, but it's a very nice peaceful hiking trail. The white trail is a little over 4 miles.

The Christman Trail head is down the road a little further past the Wild Creek trail head. If you want to see the falls use the wild creek and follow the blue/white trail. I took the Christman trail and realized that to see the falls I had to use the blue trail and loop back around to the orange to complete it. The falls are beautiful and a great place to sit for a while and soak up nature. This was a pretty good place to go, if your looking for a nice walk the complete yellow trail is nice...more adventure do the blue or white. It's hard there are no trail maps here nor did I really find any on line, but the trails are very well marked.

lovely walk, nothing dramatic, but handsome hemlocks, nice tree-framed lake views, thousands of mushrooms of all shapes and colors when we did this yesterday. Clear blazes on trail.

I love this trail. It's the perfect hike. I've hiked the blue and yellow blazes. These trails loop back around so you don't have to back track. For parts of it, you are in the woods and other parts of the trail is wider and more of a grassy path (still in the woods, but a much more open area). There is a beautiful area where water pours down some rocks into a pool of water and creek on the blue blaze and on the yellow blaze you get a view of the lake through the trees.

The trail was wonderful, very natural and rustic. The waterfall was relaxing and peaceful. The only negative, being a need distinguishing between the blue and white trails at their intersection.

Great hike with our two dogs; not hard at all but had some good elevation changes near the falls. Easy to find and navigate. Only trail that was hard to find was the one along the water after the bridge (when you make a right). Could have just been overgrown. Nicely shaded too.

Great Hike. Just enough distance and difficulty for
A midday break as we travel across PA. Lots of different options ..paths you can take. There was pine forests and sunny paths along wild flower fields. Lots of wild raspberries too. Really enjoyed water fall and lake. If you don't know what poison Ivy looks like, learn before you go or stay on the middle of path.

PS Does anyone else see a turtle crawling out from under the falls.

If you're a serious hiker this isn't for you. This hike is extremely easy and really short. Sneakers are ideal but many people wear flip flops and have no troubles. Ideal for families and kids. There's a ton of places to swim and cliff jump. There's usually rope swings that the locals put up, but state troopers usually take them down after a few months of being up. Swim at your own risk as you can be scolded or ticketed for swimming as the troopers usually come by on hot mid days.

Very easy hike. Pretty waterfall at the beginning however the rest of the hike is pretty much just walking in the woods. Not a lot of climbing or things to see. I'm glad our family (2 adults, 5yr old and 4yr old) did it but we'll probably look for something a little more challenging our next visit.

Wonderful lake, and really nice trail. Had a run in with a bear and cub here last year... Great lake when it is open for business and not closed due to "issues" Plenty of Geocaches in the area too!

We were very pleasantly surprised at these trails. There are a TON of unmarked trails so you may wander off, but most times you just loop back to the yellow trail. The white trail was so incredibly nice with soft needles underfoot and a beautiful forest. The green trail was short, but it offered some fantastic photo opportunities. Not difficult at all to navigate.

Loved this trail. Great place for the family. Finished in 3 hours with a few water breaks.

Ground Pine trail was overgrown, clearly blazed. On the other hand, Christman Trail was a delight . At times the pathway meandered thru open spaces alongside the woods and other times it was an easily navigable path thru pine and deciduous trees. Clearly blazed, not a soul to be seen this Sunday afternoon in June. Beltzville State Park itself by the lake was chocker-block full with families enjoying the facilities.

took the christman trailhead in and covered all the trails off that entrance. a good walk. seems to be the place to go for swimming as well so expect it to be busy and noisy on hot days. lots of tree cover kept us cool.
