HikingGreat!

The trail itself is really nice, well-maintained and with minimal rocks. I was only bummed about this, because the trail doesn't actually go near or have any kind of views of the thing it is named after. It is a wide loop away from the meadows so you don't actually see it other than the parking area. Though this could just be more of a problem during foliage season.

It was a great hike. We did end up seeing a rattlesnake on the trail.

Beautiful trail with no traffic and lots of shade. Relatively flat and easy hiking. Looks like it would be very muddy after a good rain.

Went in July in early morning. Trail was well maintained and fairly easy to follow. Lots of pretty rhododendrons and shaded walk. some flies, but way better than expected. expected mud based on reviews, but seems like it was undergoing maintenance to add wet area crossings.

Holy MUD!! This was a great trail but only attempt with boots that you want to have christened by the mud! Essentially, 40% of this trail felt more like walking in the base of a stream- rocks, water, mud, frogs etc. However, even with that- it was a great, flat, technically easy hike. Great balance of shaded and sunny spots, beautiful trees and vegetation, and fun to do because of the variety of the terrain. It felt more challenging than it really may be because of having to mentally decide which steps to take! Would do again! (There was a bridge out on the way to the trail, which meant a reroute on the way to getting here.)

Super easy loop... feels like less than 3.7 miles. The pup loved it, and it was a bit muddy in spots with recent rain. Probably very pretty in the spring when the Rhododendrons are in bloom.

Very cool mostly level trail. One of my favorite hikes. Best not to go after a rain. Lots of muddy areas but not bad when it’s dry out.

Lots of rhododendron jungles to walk thru which provide plenty of shade. Many intermittent open areas as well. Probably not best to hike when there’s been lots of rain. Good amount of fallen logs to climb over/under Incase you are not agile.

In the Winter I was in ankle deep water/mud for 75% of the trail.

Nice hike. The trail circles around a marsh, so, not surprisingly, there were unavoidable patches of ankle deep mud and water. And mosquitoes. Lots of mosquitoes. The Jean Aron path is worth the entire trip for its peaceful beauty, easy path through open woods.
