HikingGreat!

Great for kids and adults. My youngest was 3 first time we took him. It’s got enough of an incline for kids to feel like they are “ mountain climbers” without being too long to tire them out. There are no facilities and it’s a bit off the beaten path so plan wisely

As my mom said, “Look down, not around.” A rocky trail that makes you look where you’re stepping. Lovely lookout at the end of the short trail. Didn’t have an encounter with a snake, but heard from others that there was a Copperhead nearby and to be careful. Overall a nice evening hike to catch the sunset.

Really short walk to Bake Oven Knob - it’ll be good for young kids. During peak times there are a lot of people so try to go early or later in the day. A ton of graffiti which took away from the views, it’s pretty excessive. Still gorgeous views but wish people would respect the trail and follow LNT. Either way, definitely worth checking out. Could be a little warm up before a longer hike or right after.

Good workout with the rocks. Had a nine year old with me and two teens. All did fine. Very worth the trek when we reached he Knob.

Great trail we got there around 9am and no one was there. As we came back we saw about 15 people on their way up! So go early if you want that view all to yourself! Kids must hang out there they left a ton of trash. Just wish they’d clean up after themselves.

Often crowded but a great view. Pretty easy/mod hike. Can easily be done in less than an hour depending how long you spend at the overlook.

Bake Oven Knob has always been a great spot (been going there most of my life), but it's popularity also brought people who would rather deface the area with litter and graffiti. It's also virtually impossible to take in the view without other people around. If you're heading here for a natural setting and a nice vista, do yourself a favor and hike about .25 miles past the knob. It's a decent scramble that will eventually take you to a view just as nice with less people and graffiti (see my 2 pictures).

Lots of trash and lots of graffiti. It was a super fun hike for our 5 year old, “difficult yet fun” as she described it. We likely won’t be back, though the view was nice, the trash and graffiti was distracting, as were the people playing music.

This is a 9.5 mile hike that has a lot to offer. -Bolder scramble, flat soft patches just when you needed them, abundance of rocks and campsites, shelter, water source, and a long rocky descent after you thought your legs couldn't go another step. Our bonus was a porcupine. There are several parking options. We parked across the bridge where only a few cars can fit. It's nice going across the bridge.

Very rocky and crowded (prob due to covid). Nice views but hard to enjoy because you have to stare at the ground to avoid tripping.
