At Dead woman’s hollow end they are doing a reforestation where most of the underbrush has been burnt & quite a few acres of trees taken out... sign said September they began but it’s still in the process as of 1/10/18 ... I didn’t find the trail too impressive however it is a fairly easy hike with less steps & more flat area on the trail.

The initial run is pretty mediocre- essentially an ATV track. Once you hit the Appalachian trail it becomes a lot more interesting and challenging. There actually is a small parking area where Dead Woman's Hollow trail meets up with the AT, next time I'm starting there.

My husband and I stumbled upon this trail when it branched off of another one (Blueberry Trail, I believe). We started on a 4-5 mile hike which turned into almost 15miles! Well worth it. Saw tons of wildlife, came across a flock of baby turkeys and their not so happy momma, and it was the perfect temp outside! Would definitely go back.
