Allegheny Highlands Trail: Confluence to Ft. Hill is a 14.5 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Confluence, Pennsylvania that features a river and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from March until May. Dogs are also able to use this trail.

Terminus of the Rail Trail along the Cassleman River. (7 miles) The first thing you will notice is the trail sign as you leave Confluence that states "No cell phone service next 30 miles". They are not kidding about that but it not as remote as it seems.You are not too removed from civilization, you just can't call them on the phone. The TOPO! Overlay file included with this review contains data for the entire 30 miles of the Allegheny Highlands Trail from Confluence to Meyersdale and includes the track of the planned trail and road bypass route to Cumberland, Md.
